Awesome Passage

1 Pet 1:3-5
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,4 to {obtain} an inheritance {which is} imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.(NAS)

These three verses are great. Because of the death and resurrection of Jesus, we can obtain everlasting life. Eternity with God. That is pretty cool stuff. The thing that strikes me here is that our inheritance is imperishable, undefiled, and it will never fade away. It's completely unlike anything we possess here on earth. The other thing that sticks out to me is that last part: that we are protected by the power of God through faith. This can be a pretty controversial topic sometimes, but I really think this verse is saying that our Salvation is a done deal. It is not something that can be lost, because God chose us, not the other way around.

Eph 1:13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-- having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,(NAS)
