Today, things started returning to normal. The flooding receded enough that I got to school without incident. The part that wasn't normal was that after I had gotten to school, I saw a sign that said my math class, the only class I had today, was cancelled. After studying for an hour, I went to Dennys with my dad for some breakfast. It had been quite a long time since I'd had an omelete.
We also went to Petco for a little bit today. After looking at all the fish, birds, and reptiles, I was once again inspired to buy a pet. It still hasn't happened yet, but who knows what the future may hold. What I can say is that it won't be one of the 1500 dollar birds that we saw today. Oh, and it won't be a snake, because my mom would not be very appreciative of such an animal. It also won't be a dog, a cat, or any other animal with substantial fur, as my nephew is allergic to these animals. If it ever happens, I'm pretty much limited to a lizard or a fish, the later being boring and the former being expensive to buy and care for if you want one worth having. I'd like to get a Uromastyx, a type of vegetarian lizard, but I'm not sure if that will ever happen.

I think you have your former and latter mixed up. I assume you mean fish are boring. I beg to differ. Okay, you can't carry them around. I enjoy our little goldfish (the one that survived). I enjoyed our plecostamus before it died. And its replacement died. They lie low and then swim like crazy every now and then. If you buy them at Wally's, save your receipt. They will refund your money for up to 90 days.
You should combine your desire for a fish and a lizard and get a croc! its the best of both worlds!
Plus how cool would it to be to have a croc as a pet.
All I'm saying is that you can't hold a fish. With a uromastyx, you can take it out of its cage and it will rest on your arm without suffocating. Besides that, the Uros live around 15 years, which could either be considered an advantage or a disadvantage. I do think fish are interesting to watch, i just think some types of lizards would allow for more interaction.
I think I would prefer an animal that couldn't eat me. Besides that, I don't have enough room for a ten foot long animal. It's a good idea, though.
come eric
if you get the croc at brith you can tame it! then it will be safe
there are those who would debate wether crocodiles could be tamed. Also, the problem remains that I don't have room for a crocodile.
