1 Pet 4:1-2
1 Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,2 so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.(NAS)
This verse really challenges me and makes me ask the question: "What am I living for?" My desire is to live for God, but I don't always succeed in attaining that goal. Sometimes the "lusts of men" gets in the way. Things I want, things I "need," things I wish I had but really don't need. My desire is to be like Paul, to "Count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord..." (Phil 3:8).
