Matt 16:24-25
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.25 "For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake shall find it.(NAS)
Salvation is a free gift, as the faith required to receive salvation is also a free gift. But that does not mean that we as Christians have no obligations. Jesus asks us to give up our lives here on earth in service to Him. We will suffer for Jesus while we are on this earth, but eternity with God is on the way.

- I am a follower of Jesus Christ. He saved me, and my life is commited to serving Him. I currently a student at The Master's College, with a major in Biblical Exposition and Biblical Languages.
