Job or job?

I remember a while back, my nephew forgot his reading book for his reading homework. Being friends with his teacher, we asked him what to do. He said to read whatever he could find. My nephew, Nathan, decided to read from the Bible. Of all the places to pick, he started reading from Job. No matter how many times it was explained to him, he just kept pronouncing Job like the job you would get a Burger King (with a short o instead of a long o).

Maybe this is just a bit of a tangent. What I wanted to say is that Job has a great deal to teach us. In the first chapter alone, Job looses his servants, oxen, donkeys, sheep, camels, and all 10 of his children. To top it all off, this all happens in one day. In fact, the Bible repeats the phrase "While he was speaking..." between every messenger. Talk about a bad day. The messengers were practically tripping over each other telling Job the bad news. After all this, Job still honors the Lord:

Job 1:20-22
20 Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped.21 And he said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I shall return there. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD."22 Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God.(NAS)

Through all that he lost; through all that we experience or lose, God is still in control. And he still deserves our praise.
